**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) Goodreads.com**
I LOVED this book. I mean what's not to love, when there's a hot bear shifter, a princess with hidden powers, an ice queen and a beyond kinky baddie (who is female). This book was expertly written giving us the perfect insight into the main characters thoughts at all the right times. It's safe to say I will definitely be looking out for this author in future.
The main character is Sorscha, who at the start is a fairly normal girl with an obsession with doctor who, Lord of the rings and most things geeky. She is crushing hard on a man put in place in her life by her parents to protect her, William and at this point he does not like her one bit. Sorscha's life drastically changes when the people she thinks are her parents are killed and a group of orcs lead by a necromancer are sent to capture her. William protects her by pushing her through a portal into another land where he reveals himself to be a bear shifter. I thought Sorscha was a very deep character and her development throughout the book is very obvious as there is a definite change in what drives her. I liked the way she is very aware of her life back on earth and that she tries to put up even a little bit of a fight when it comes to her bear shifter now known as Tethur.
The secondary character I think is most worth a mention is Tethur/ William/ bear shifter. I found this character very easy to fall in love with as his strong, take no prisoners attitude shines through from the first page. I loved how delicately he treats Sorscha up until a point then he doesn't hold back, the love between him and Sorscha is different from other stories similar to this as there is a definite history between them.
The pacing was great not leaving everything until the last chapter and having s big showdown but holding back which will hopefully lead to a book 2 or maybe even 3 & 4 in the series. It also allowed plenty of time for character development which proved that Sorscha was up to the job she needed/ still needs to complete.
The storyline was similar to other books I've read but at the same time was widely different. What I loved most in this book besides the relationship between Sorscha and Tethur was that there seemed to be a threat of a real danger for the characters.
