#062 29/10/14- Storm Mistress (Others of Seatle #2), Brandy L Rivers
**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) Goodreads.com**
This is the second book by Brandy L Rivers and I can honestly say that this author is quickly becoming a favourite of mine- in addition to this on my finishing this book I have bought ‘New beginings’ 0.5 in her ‘Others of Edenton’ series which is currently free on amazon uk. I honestly can’t wait to read more by this author.
The main characters are Isa (Isadora) and Toryn as they both have certain bits of the story told from their POV which I love as it gives us (the readers) a true picture of all aspects surrounding the characters. Isa has always been in love with Toryn since the minute he walked into her life however there’s one thing in the way and that just happens to be that from what she knows he’s gay. Toryn was sent to protect Isa at all costs but since the minute he saw her he’s wanted a lot more than to protect her. In an attempt to keep her safe from him and any other danger he embeds himself in her life in the role of gay best friend. What Isa doesn’t know is that she has the potential to control the elements due to her being a member of the royal family from a land called Faerie. When events spiral out of control Toryn is forced to tell Isa about both her and his true natures as they come together in a love story that is a pleasure to read. I loved Isa and Toryn both as separate characters and as a couple in love . Their story was so expertly told that I fell in love with both of these characters from the very first page.
The secondary characters were very beneficial to this storyline as they fed the storyline, moving it along at a steady pace as well as adding to the complications and twists in the plotline. I felt that there was a superb back story to be told and would love to hear more about Morrigan and Toryn’s relationship.
The pacing was fantastic with a more than suitable build up to the storyline allowing us to really get to understand some of the main and secondary characters before introducing the main complication to the story. There was also a fantastic part of the book that was set in the aftermath of the storyline giving us just what we wanted to know about how Isa and Toryn went forward after the event.
The storyline was fantastically original and hugely different from the first book in this series. I find it fascinating to read two books in the same series which are so different in storyline and I found to be a greatly enjoyable reading experience. I found the overall storyline in this book more enjoyable mainly because of the wide variety of characters and the plot twists. I would love to read more about these characters and this story in the future.
4.5 stars a great addition to the series.
