An awesome book that I couldn't put down. I loved this book from start to end, by an author I had never even heard of before, well all I can say is I will look out for books by this author in future as well as the rest of this series.

The main character Lryic is a sixteen year old girl with the ability to move through the veil (limbo) and view the restless spirits. Her and her brother Lincoln have been on the run with their father since the death of their mother until their father is kidnapped and they are forced into using their gifts to serve a family. I loved Lryic who seemed at the start to be a quiet, yet sassy girl who dished out attitude whenever she could however despite her strong appearance you are still aware that this girl is vulnerable having never been kissed due to her life on the run. All in all Lryic is a greatly deep character with strengths and pitfalls like any teenage girl who overall has a lot of developing to do and I for one can't wait to read more about her.

Secondary characters I felt noteworthy include Lincoln, Lryic's brother, Grace the ghost and Aiden the boy that shares Lryic's first kiss. Lincoln for the majority of this book was injured due to a car accident in the first few chapters but I loved that this didn't stop him from being an overprotective brother. Grace, was a real asset to both Lryic and Lincoln in this book, I'm still not entirely sure who enthralled her but I don't think they know either. And Aiden, like all male characters I would fall for seems to seriously mix up Lryic's emotions by running hot and cold all the time rather than sticking with a feeling- I can't wait to see how this relationship with Lryic progresses in the rest of the series.

The pacing was brilliant giving us plenty of time to get to know the characters and what was needed of them in order to complete their 'task'. There is also a major twist and an ending that leaves us wanting more.

The storyline was original and punchy mixing in all the great bits about the book, the characters, setting and serving it up in a thrilling storyline that kept me up until the wee hours of the morning and turning me into the one more chapter monster.

I was hooked on this book from chapter one and can't wait to read more about these unique characters. 5 stars. A great read.

**I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. You’re never too old for YA & NA books (goodreads.com)**

A second book in the series that matches if not surpasses its predecessor is rare to find however I feel this book does exactly that. It is only now after finishing the book that I appreciate the expert way the book is written, it is a seem less story that allows your imagination to run wild making the book easy to get sucked into. In short I loved this book and don’t want this series to end.

The main character is Lyric, she is a teenage girl with the paranormal ability to walk through the veil (purgatory). Lyric’s story picks up a little while after where the first book ends, after her long awaited kiss with Aiden after hearing a new version of the story of her mother’s death. Now, at the start of the second book the relationship between Lyric and Aiden is difficult, Lyric has her dad back with herself and Lincoln and sparks are flying. I loved Lyric in this book, she was strong and independent despite Aiden and her father’s attempts to dampen her spirits as well as her search for the truth behind her mother’s death turning up mostly blanks.

The secondary characters I found the most noteworthy in this book include Lincoln, Jack, Aiden and Gemma. Lincoln is Lyric’s twin brother, it Aiden is difficult, Lryic has her dad back with herself and Lincolny of her mothers death.  is evident in this book that there is beginning to be a rift between the two siblings as Lyric suspects her dad is involved in the death of her mother. Jack is Lyric’s dad; he doesn’t like the situation his family are currently in, he makes this blatantly obvious by disagreeing with Lyric at every point sometimes leading to physical violence. Aiden in this book is blowing hot and cold on Lyric leaving her confused and upset a lot of the time, I would love for these two characters to come together in the end but I honestly can’t see that happening following the end of this book. Gemma really comes into her own in this book advancing her powers into the physical realm and saving Lyric’s life on a number of occasions.

The pacing was fantastic keeping the book moving along at a steady pace and saving enough of the story back until the very last minute giving us a cliff-hanger ending and making us want to continue to read more.

The storyline was great and as original as the first giving us lots of twists and turns and surprise endings. This book offered a brand new mix of issues that Lyric has to face and actually I felt that Lyric faced a lot of these issues on her own which is why we see a slight change in her character.

A great book 4 stars.

This was a great finale to a series I’ve loved reading, which kept me on the edge of my seat and unable to release my kindle from my hands for two days. I was awestruck by the turn in which the last book took; it was something that was completely unexpected however fantastically satisfying. I have loved reading this trilogy and I absolutely will look out for the author in future as well as recommending these books to anyone who asks.

The main character is Lyric, a teenage girl who has a gift which allows her to see into the land of the dead (the veil). In this book Lyric is a little lost, following the events from the second book in the series Lyric has had little choice in what her life has become. Lyric’s feeling of being lost doesn’t stay throughout the book as she fights against the dangers that face herself and her family and becomes a fantastically strong female character. I have loved this character from the start however I am especially liking her in this last book as I feel she achieves the most character development. I Lyric’s wish this story didn’t have to end but if it does then this book is certainly the best way to do that.

The secondary characters in this book that I feel most noteworthy include Aiden, Jack and Lincoln. Aiden is as in the previous books the love interest for Lyric; he is a strong and sturdy male character who comes to Lyric’s character at just the right time to her save. I was pleased I this book that there wasn’t as much on and off between Aiden and Lyric and that they could both just be together in a really really hot way since they are both hot characters. Jack is Lyric’s father, he is a strong and stubborn character who always thinks he knows best for his daughter which is not always true, especially at the start of the book where Lyrics is lost to herself. Lincoln is Lyric’s twin brother, he has the same power as her however in this book he was fairly absent in my opinion, I still feel he is noteworthy as he has had such a big impact on Lyric before.

The pacing was great instilling an overall sense of doom throughout the book leading up to the big finale then giving our main character plenty of time to make up her mind as to what to do following the events and in the case of this book, go her own way.

The storyline is as original as the book before however in this book it took the reader on a completely new and exhilarating turn which had not been looked into in previous books giving us something completely new and unexpected.

4.5 stars, just disappointed because I don’t want this story to end.
