#082 Corporate Nightmare- Marlo Williams

#082 18th December 2014- Corporate Nightmare, Marlo Williams

**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review some like it hot goodreads.com.**

If I’m being honest I found this book quite difficult to read simply due to the content but in the authors defence it does clearly state all these things in a warning; I guess I just didn’t know what to expect. Once you can get past all those things I actually found the love story very enjoyable and gripping to the end.

The main character is Kate; she is a very career centred person at the start of the book, trying very hard to make sure she is the person to win and run an account for the company works for with a very big client. After this she is approached by a man who warns her about her boss and the company she secures the deal with; what he warns her of soon comes to pass when she is drugged and sent to somebody who is to train her for the sex trade before she is sold to her owner. The content during her training is very explicit and quite difficult to read however it is important to Kate’s story that we know these things as it adds a tremendous amount to her character. I loved the resilient nature of Kate’s character and that she constantly fights for her life as well as her freedom. I also liked that it is possible in a book like this for the character to get a happy ending, even if we do have to wait until the very last minute to learn it.

The only secondary character I feel noteworthy in this book is Richard; he is the man who warns Kate at the start of the book as well as her saviour. It turns out that he has a connection with Kate that spans from before the incident in question but to her childhood. I liked Richard who is seen to be a calming and stable influence in Kate’s life throughout this book.

The pacing was good and I felt it was very well written in terms of making sure readers were kept hoping for this happy ending until the very end. That and there was a very real threat of Kate’s happiness being stolen away from her at any given minute.

The storyline was original and unlike anything I have ever read before; I did however find that it got a bit repetitive and some of the content was far more explicit than I was expecting.

A solid 3 stars, not a horrible book but a fairly shocking one.
