I am beginning to have a whole new appreciation for authors of short story's, it amazes me the amount of detail they can put into a story which has less than 100 pages. In short I absolutely loved this book, which is so well written that I felt emotionally attached to the main character from the first page.

The main character is Lily, she is a red haired werewolf the only one left. at the start of the story Lily is suffering from living with an issue from ages ago, this along with the fact that she has brothers who are probably overprotective of her make it difficult to trust other people. While at a bar with her friend she notices a hot guy at the bar, with some encouragement from her friend she finds the confidence to talk to him. One thing leads to another and we find ourselves reading about two characters who we can't wait to get together, luckily because it's a short story we don't have to wait long. With other complications we find our main character discovering confidence within herself that she didn't think was possible. I loved Lily as a main character she was strong and sassy when she needed to be as well as caring and I was glad to see that she found she could trust her mate.

The secondary characters included Sara, Kieran, and a small appearance from her brothers mainly Rafe and Caleb. Sara is Lily 's best friend she is the one who helps convince Lily to get to know the cowboy wolf from the bar. Kieran is the cowboy wolf from the bar who is dead set of getting to know Lily from the minute he sees her. Rafe and Caleb are Lily 's younger brothers, they seem to be protective yet supportive at the same time, whether this is because their dad forces them or because they care they definitely are a big impact on her life.

The pacing was great giving us a little extra than just the story we were expecting and leaving the inevitable get together to the last minute to build more importance on the potential uprising and threats on Lily 's life.

The storyline was similar to other books I've read however was still very enjoyable.

3.5 stars on to book 2.

Alpha wolf is a brilliant short story to add the the series, it greatly differs from the first in the series however the same overwhelming theme resonates throughout the story. We do still have brief flashes of the main characters from the last book but mainly because of their connection with the main characters in this book.

The main characters in this book are Sara and Rafe, if you've just finished the first book these characters are the best friend and eldest younger brother of the main character from the previous book, Lily. Sara is a fiery character who goes about her duties as guardian and life without even thinking about settling down with her mate. However after seeing Lily happy with her mate Sara is widely aware that there probably is someone out there that's perfect for her. After a casual one night stand with Sara years ago Rafe seems unable to get her off his mind, now with the growing fear of the rogue wolves that went after his sister in the last book he feels he should make a move. With the unsettling feeling that he may have to start a desperate pack he takes his change with who he thinks is his mate. This relationship between two strong willed and very independent characters makes for an explosive story especially once they actually realise they're made for each other. I loved Sara's character in this book as it was true to what we knew of her from the previous book and played that up fantastically. And Rafe is of course the alpha male we'd all fall for.

The secondary characters include Lily and Caleb, there were less secondary characters in this book due to this book bringing out other aspects affecting the two main characters instead of just the people they know. The secondary characters mentioned however were given the opportunity to not only process the relationship between the two main characters but to support it.

The pacing was great giving us a big build up from a threat we already knew existed and then the main event and still leaving time for an epilogue giving us a short detail allowing us to feel at ease with the characters knowing they are still together and happy.

The storyline in this book built on the last book giving more details about how the whole pack would be influenced and how they would react to this threat. There was of course also a huge romance story that ran alongside all of this and gave us just the fix we need from a short story like this.

A fantastic read, better than the first 4 stars.

This is as good as third books in a series gets, since there has been no extreme changes in the plot line before now we don’t expect any real changing circumstances. It followed the same sort of story that the other books in the series have, an overriding romance with a band of rogues acting as the threat.

The main characters are Caleb and Rielle, the characters are connected to the other two books as Caleb is the younger brother of both Lily from book one and Rafe from book two. Caleb is the strong and action ready younger brother we all expect younger brothers will be, he is at the start of the book looking for a string of women who will serve their purpose and leave. However after bumping into Rielle a girl he’s known from childhood, he tries to engage in a type of relationship he’s never had before. Rielle has led a pretty sheltered life, she prefers the human world to pack life and has never really been intimate with anyone. However after bumping into Caleb as she was leaving her shop she can’t get him out of her head making her want to reintroduce herself with the pack in order to appease her inner wolf. The relationship between the two main characters although rocky at the start is sweet and realistic making us fall instantly in love with the characters.

The seconday characters mainly included Lily and Otsana who simply tried to advance the relationship between the two main characters forward. In this third book there was a similar feeling to the second in that the pack was becoming a completely different character in one mind thinking alike; this is probably due to the threat caused by the rogues.

The pacing in this book was good however it felt slightly anticlimactic due to there being no real change in pace throughout the book I think however that this mirrors the storyline as other than Caleb’s explosive attitude and him lashing out there was no real advancements in the story or the threat that has been present throughout the series so far.

I feel that from this book’s storyline it was a bridge to build upon the pack mentality in the face of the threat and that this book is going to be a bridge between the characters and the coming books.

3 stars, I did like this book however it felt ultimately like nothing was happening.
