#057 Captivate me, S. J. Pierce

#057, 08/10/14- Captivate me, S. J. Pierce

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) Goodreads.com**
A good start to a new series of books with likeable characters and unlikable bad guys it was an action packed thrill ride of a book with just a hint of romance.

The main character is Kat a young girl with one parent a prophet and the other used to be an angel so of course our girl comes with some tricks of her own. This book is about the acceptance of her gifts as well as the realisation of a new gift and two boys to decide between. I liked Kat as she was exactly what I would except from a strong female characters, sassy, smart and accepting of all things.

The secondary characters include the toys boys fighting over her Gabe and Levi, and roommate Anna. All of these characters added significantly to the events of the book, as far as the boy fight went in my opinion it ended well- almost open ended (I do not expect Levi to give up however do like Kat and Gabe as a couple). And I thought Anna was a fantastic addition to the book making it a lot easier to see Kat in a family dynamic as she big sisters Anna through starting school.

The pacing was good with excellent build up to the main conflict in the end and then with suitable follow up on aftermath of event and character development making us excited for the release of the next book in the series.

The storyline was very original, giving supernatural creatures we had heard of prior to this book a brand new side to them as well as dealing with the issue forgotten in a lot of other paranormal books which is how they fit in with the rest of society

3.5 stars.
