#044 London bound, Nana Malone

#044 16th August 2014- London bound (chase brothers #1), Nana Malone
**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review**

This book is another classic love story which includes two perfectly broken people, I don’t know about others but my heart soars when I read book like these. I love that the right guy gets the right girl in the end- not that I’m saying that’s what happens in this book, that would be a spoiler.

The main characters are Alexi and Abbie, they are both complex characters with problems that if occurred in the real world would need some serious therapy sessions. Alexi has issues that reach all the way into his childhood and have affected his life and others in his life all the way into his adult life however a pain in the arse of a father has forced him into looking for a way to live completely independently which is when he meets Abbie. Abbie on the other hand has recently suffered trauma at the hand of an ex-boyfriend and since her family chose not to support her has travelled to another country to follow her dreams where she meets Alexi. I loved both Lex and Abbie and thought they were very well matched however a part of me still even at the end of the book wondered about what kind of couple Abbie and Xander would be.

The secondary characters included Sophie and Tamsin Abbie’s best friends as well as Jasper and Xander. I mention these four characters because they were most mentioned, while other characters are equally important but are easy to forget. I liked Tamsin more than Sophie because I felt at times she was a bit stuck up and Jasper was pretty cool but his crush on Abbie seemed a bit pointless and added nothing to the story, they could have just been friends. I loved Xander and hope I get to read a book especially on him, I secretly hoped he would get together with one of his students if not Abbie in the end.

The pacing was great adding the right amount of character issues into the mix at exactly the right time making me feel more emotionally invested in the characters. I also liked that Abbie got to meet Lex’s mother near the end of the book because I thought Natasha was a great and supportive character that Abbie needed in her life even if she didn’t end up with Lexi.

The storyline was great and kept me guessing up until the very last minute as to whether Abbie and Alexi got together in the end or not. The other characters introduced make it very easy to write another book in the series and I would love to read it- whoever it’s written about.

4 stars. I will have to look out for this author in future.
