#040 + #041 + #042 Blue eyes trilogy book 1- 3, Kristin B McMichael

#040 5th August 2014- The legend of blue eyes (blue eyes #1), Kristin B McMichael

As a first book in a series this book has everything needed to draw the reader into the world of the characters.

The main character is Arianna, she is an ordinary girl up until her sixteenth birthday when we begin her story. It is on her sixteenth birthday that she finds out she is part of not one but two secret races who both feed on blood. She is thrown into a world she never even knew existed, finds out about a family who abandoned her in order to protect her and meets a number of boys madly in love with her. All of this aside you know you are going to love this book as soon as you get to know Arianna's character, she is in my opinion a perfect heroine- sassy, smart, loyal to a fault and very aware of herself. In short I loved her character.

The secondary characters include Delvin the boy her grandfather has trained to protect her, Turner a werewolf who places his loyalty with her, Gabrielle her uncle who always finds a way into her life and Molina a female in her protection unit. The boys play a big part in the development of Arianna's character as she progresses into the role she is to play.

The pacing was great not leaving everything to the last minute but still going out with a big finale type scene leaving us wanting more and leading nicely into the second book. You can tell by the pacing of this book that the series is going to be killer with the perfect combination of description vs dialogue and the perfect timing of each and every factor contributing towards the overall plot.

The story line was brilliantly original with a few new paranormal species and just the right about of romance.

3.5 stars, a great read by an author I will look out for in the future. Review to book 2 coming soon...

#041 14th August 2014- Becoming a legend (blue eyes #2),  Kristin B McMichael
**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)**

I found this book a bit more confusing than the first but that was probably due to the fact that because it was a second in a trilogy it spent most of the time tossing out relevant information that would lead up to the last book. I thought that it was well written since it reflected Arianna's confusion well and I was happy that we learned at the same time as her because it kept me interested and will help lead into the second book.

The main character is again Arianna only in this book she has come into her power a bit more although not a lot. She has a different love triangle between again Delvin but instead of Turner the Andrew, I found this slightly more difficult to buy into as for all intents and purposes it seems as though she's already made her choice. In this book Arianna is a lot more aware of the responsibility that surrounds her as being the leader of 4 clans which causes a bit of conflict due to the fact that Arianna doesn't know as much as others. And finally in this book we have Arianna understanding more of the prophecy she is part of in order to over come a illness introduced to her by one of her trusted. So yes a lot happens in this book which makes it a little bit confusing but more than that it makes it exciting and packed full of action.

The secondary characters include Delvin, Turner, Thomas, Andrew and Molina. Each who hold a very special place in both Arianna and my heart. They are mostly just part of her personal keepers and some of whom who have been following and looking her after her longer than she can remember.

The pacing was good and I liked that it again ended with a slight cliff hanger almost leading into the unknown. And I genuinely can't wait to read the next book.

The storyline lead on very well from the previous book and will hopefully lead into the next book. It is an original story with characters that are easy to like. I also like the new paranormal species that are introduced in this series of books most of which I've never heard of before now but are similar to others in many ways.

3.5 stars.

#042  17th August 2014- winning the legend (blue eyes #3), Kristin B McMichael

What a fantastic end to a brilliant story. This book tied up all the ends that were exposed in book 2 and not only were the questions answered but they were tied up in a neat little bow. I loved this series and honestly didn't really want it to end which was why I am absolutely over the moon to learn there's going to be a spin off story about Nessa and Devin.

The main character Arianna is fighting for the right to make her own decisions. She is completing the prophecy and learning about the repercussions of her actions in fulfilling the prophecy. I loved Arianna in this book she was very in control, and took full responsibility for her actions, I actually found her a much more likeable character in this final book. I also liked her new found abilities that came along with her fulfilling the prophecy and how she reacted to the dangers that she was living with.

The secondary characters were the same as in book two with the addition of Nessa who I love, because she is a real rebel. Turning away from her brother, the ruler of the clan to help Arianna and her team of keepers, especially Devin. Devin as always is a true gentleman but I was a bit annoyed with him in this book because he doesn't pursue Arianna even though he still loves her however I was happy with him and Nessa. Andrew was awesome in this book all I'm going to defend my girl to the absolute end.

The pacing was brilliant as with the rest of the series leaving it until the last minute to give us an answer but with this book the surprise twist at the end kept me glued to my kindle unable to put it down.

The storyline was original and it offered a new format for the last book in a trilogy instead of going along the lines of every other trilogy. It offered a rebellion but that was successfully masked by a competition for Arianna's hand in marriage.

4 stars can't wait for the spin off.
