Woah,
what just happened, you know what I don't care whatever it was it was awesome.
I'm not really sure how there is going to be a book 2 but I do look forward to
reading it and finding out.
The main characters Wynn and Gethin are supposed to be enemies are drawn together after Wynn is sent on a mission to deliver a message to the Elvin king. The mission sends her in the direction of Gethin who makes her his prisoner, the couple start to develop feelings for each other, feelings Wynn knows she should not be having. Wynn is a kind and caring person who has been misled into believing the lies of her queen over the truths king Gethin offers her. Whereas Gethin is a strong king who is not used to having a woman so stubborn and unmoving towards his wishes.
The secondary characters add to the story perfectly allowing us to better get to know the characters and their motivation. The queen adds a layer of uncertainty as you are not entirely sure if she is good or bad until the very end. The Elvin king seems kind however he is desperate to get his son home safely, and the brothers of Gethin offer a chance for the two main characters to have something in common.
The pacing was great with a steady filter of things happening all the time and introducing a perfect build up to the climactic ending early on in the book.
The story line is fabulously original and was like nothing I have ever read before.
4 stars easily. I can't wait to see what happens in book 2.
